Don’t tell God how big your storm is.
Instead tell your storm, how big your GOD is! (courtesy of Kristi)
Reminds me a little of the thought that if we were made in the image of God, we were indeed made to walk on water … so I guess the case could also be made that we were made to calm the seas as well….

So I was thinking today …. I was thinking about handprints and how God made the world and it was good … but then God made you (and me) and it was VERY GOOD … I was thinking about how God’s handprint is on each of us. How we are still good … problem is we get a bit confused and forget that sometimes. I was thinking of our names and what our names mean … and then I was thinking of who each of you are — who God made each of you to be … and I smiled!!! (like God smiles when he thinks of you).
Then I was thinking of trampolines and JUMPING … i was thinking of how Jesus calls us to JUMP … to jump out of the boat … I was thinking about Indiana Jones … I was thinking about the holy grails we each seek … I was thinking about what a crazy but awesome adventure it is when we dare to jump out of the boat and brave the water, the waves and the wind … when we dare to jump … to take the leap and follow Jesus … I was thinking about how you all jumped on that trampoline … how we’re all on this crazy ride together … we’re all trying to find the "Grail" … we’re all trying to remember who we are (very good!!!) and who it is that calls us to jump out of the boat and follow Him ….
I was thinking about how if we were indeed made in the image of God – then we were made to walk on water … problem is we’ve forgotten how … problem is we don’t believe that we are good enough to walk on that water (Jesus does though … otherwise he wouldn’t have called us to JUMP).
Hmmm and then I was thinking about how when we jump … about when we remember who we are and who calls us on this adventure we find swimming holes like the one at Greeter Falls … little oases in which we can float and play and rest and remember.
But I was also thinking of how following Jesus is really a lot like rafting … that’s what the journey is like … full of adventure and fear, full of joy and of nervousness, full of risk and of lifejackets, full of rapids to brave and still waters to float. I was thinking that rafting paints a pretty good picture of what it is like to JUMP. Following Jesus, means we’re infor the ride of our lives … and I was thinking that we really are the engine and Jesus the guide on this crazy and awesome adventure through life.
Finally I began thinking of worship, our response to who God is, our response to the burning bush … worship, anything that brings delight to God. I was thinking of fans, chalices, paint, mirrors, scrabble, names, crayons, psalms and music … and again I smiled.
I’ve been thinking a lot (clearly) about our time together last weekend … and you know what .. it was GOOD. God created once again and it was GOOD. But what made it VERY GOOD, was you. You being there. Because you are VERY GOOD.
Thanks for JUMPing with me… Thanks for sharing your "GOODNESS" with me. Thanks for joining in this crazy upside down adventure to find burning bushes; holy grails; ourselves and our God!
May you my friends remember that you are in fact made "very good." that you are made in the image of God. His handprint is on you. may you remember that you are made to JUMP. that you are made to walk on water.
And may you my friends be splashed with the goodness of Him whom we seek and follow, as we paddle on, into this grand adventure.
I posted this cause really it could easily pertain to any of our community (young and old) whether you were with us last weekend or not.
